Telenetics® Sees Major Opportunities in Growing Russian Market
Net Sales to Former Soviet Republics Surpass $1 Million in 2001

LAKE FOREST, California — January 10, 2002 -- Telenetics Corporation (OTC.BB: TLNT), a wired and wireless data transmission and network access products provider, today reported that sales of its Sunrise™ Series Products in Russia and other former Soviet Republics surpassed $1 million in 2001, and disclosed that it sees a growing requirement for these products in the Russian Market.

Commenting on Telenetics’ growing business in Russia, William Kosoff, Director of Worldwide Sales for the Sunrise Series Products stated: "We have witnessed an increasing interest for our high-end Sunrise Series Products in Russia and other former Soviet Republics. Our proprietary design, which enables secure data transmission over long distances and poor line conditions, is ideal for industrial and banking applications in Russia and elsewhere. The Central Bank of Russia and the National Savings Bank of Russia are now among the major financial institutions using our products for secured data transmission. Our technology is enabling Russian banks to offer electronic banking to their customers and expand the implementation of ATM machines across Russia

"We are hopeful that with the Russian economy growing at a rate of 5.7% a year, we can position Telenetics to be a major supplier of reliable data communications products to the Russian market."

Commenting further, David Bray, Director of Marketing & Business Development for Telenetics, noted that: "The addition of the Sunrise Series to our portfolio of products has allowed Telenetics to diversify beyond the industrial and utility automation markets. Commercial networks around the world present large opportunities for our Sunrise Series Products, and Electronic banking is just one of the many vertical markets we have now penetrated."

Telenetics is utilizing a network of distributors and national system integrators, previously set up by Motorola and now under contract with Telenetics, to sell its Sunrise Series Products in Russia and other the former Soviet Republics.
