LAKE FOREST, California – January 30, 2003 – Telenetics Corporation (OTC-BB: TLNT), a provider of wired and wireless data communications products for customers worldwide, announced this week the receipt of a 500 unit order for its CDMA (digital) Omega™ wireless communications products that will provide Automated Meter Reading (AMR) capabilities for a major electric power utility serving portions of Southern California.

This is the first of two anticipated orders that will deploy over 1,000 of the Omega™ series products for two time-critical utility projects. All units in this first order are to be delivered by the end of the second quarter of 2003. The Omega™ series product is designed for use with the latest CDMA (digital) cellular networks and will initially provide circuit switched data communication. Packet switching will be an option later this year when the local CDMA cellular service provider adds that capability to their network.
