Lake Forest, California – April 16, 2002 – Telenetics Corporation (OTC-BB:TLNT) reported today that it has received several large orders over the past 45 days from its Sunrise Partners™, a worldwide network of distributors of the company’s Sunrise Series™ network access products. Most significant is a recent large order from Data Connect Enterprises (DCE), Olney, Maryland, valued at approximately $1.1 million. In addition to Sunrise Series™ networking products, the order from DCE includes a substantial quantity of Telenetics industrial modem products, including the new DSP9612FP FlashPoll™ Modem. Additional notable orders have been received from WECO Computer Systems, Nigeria and Team Data, Malaysia, both of which have taken advantage of the recently announced financing plan launched by Telenetics in conjunction with California Bank & Trust.

Announcing these purchase orders, David Bray, Telenetics’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing stated: "The infusion of capital in January allowed us to address our production requirements and focus more attention on sales strategies. By taking advantage of our no-charge credit facility, WECO and Team Data have established significant inventories of our Sunrise Series™ networking products in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, allowing us to be more responsive to the needs of our customers in those parts of the world. Similar programs are being pursued in Europe, the Middle East and Russia. The DCE order validates our strategy of leveraging our Sunrise Partners™ distribution network and selling both Sunrise and other Telenetics products through these same channels".

Commenting further, Barry Patton, President of DCE stated: "We have seen a continued high demand for the Telenetics Sunrise Series™ products, and with a comprehensive inventory we can provide the rapid delivery services required by our customers. By adding selected Telenetics industrial modem products to our existing inventory of Sunrise Series products we have been able to close new business opportunities for Telenetics and penetrate new market segments".
